Grace starts drinking when she discovers that her husband Craig is having an affair. One night she witnesses a man attacking a girl; she helps the girl get to the hospital but does not want to be a witness in court because she thinks Craig would lose his reputation. Only when the girl's mother appeals to her does Grace contact Lieutenant Lawson from the police department. During the trial, Grace identifies Bremer as the thug, but at the same time she is asked questions about her private life. When Bremer goes free in the end, he pursues Grace.—Volker Boehm
