Synopsis

Once Is Enough is a comedy/fantasy set in the sprawl of a 21st-century American city. John is recently divorced and trying to start over in life, but his long years out of the job market have left him with very few career options. He is forced to work as a mail-room clerk. Not only is John just scraping by, but he's forced to endure a daily carpool with an annoying co-worker who takes great joy in tormenting him.

While John is watching his broken-down TV, an ad appears promising a New Life. With seemingly nothing to lose, John travels to a warehouse on the edge of the city. There, John encounters Bob, and out-of-work Wizard trying to get by in a world where magic is no longer needed.

John is transformed into new bodies and given completely new lives. A man with all the wealth he could want, but nothing to spend it on; a man whose name is known to the world...but this fame comes with a terrible price; a beautiful woman married to the most despicable man on earth; a young boy caught up with violent criminals; and an old man with all his cares and woes behind him, but very few years ahead.

After John tries all these lives, he comes to the conclusion that his own life is the best option and this newfound knowledge gives him a New Life. John wakes up the next morning not knowing for sure if all that happened at the warehouse was real, but John found truth in his experience and that truth gives him a future full of possibilities.
