Omer 5769, An Installation and Performance examines work by Doni Silver Simons on the ritual practice of Counting the Omer and it's universal message. Beginning as a painting, progressing through an installation, and engaging in a silent performance, the piece emerges as a sculpture. This work describes the uniquely human condition of navigating the parameters of time. It examines the accumulation of consciousness: what has been, could have been, and what is no longer. The film rustles with the whispers of Strand-Pullers. The viewer is invited to connect personal insights to broader societal considerations.—Anonymous
