Summaries

A man struggles to find acceptance in his life by questioning if he was born to just fit in or forever stand out.

Odd Man Out follows Charles Winters, an African American man who's attempting to find his place in the world. His chameleon like upbringing has resulted in him not being able to find his identity in the black community and in society. Through colorism, fighting stereotypes and dealing with consistent failed relationships, we see the everyday struggles Charles faces. After a tragedy, Charles moves from Los Angeles to Atlanta to confront his past and do the work to start healing. In doing so, he mentors 2 teenagers in the foster care system and blurs many lines trying to help these kids avoid mistakes and trauma he knows all too well. But in the process, Charles ultimately finds out-you can't save everyone.—Ronnel Ricardo Parham
