Prantabh and Anand, associated with a news channel in Delhi, are in search of a big scam to prove a point to their senior. A dead body accidentally lands up in their car.
Bilal Khawaja (Anupam Kher) is the Asian Olympics Games Chairman. Bilal is accused of murdering CBI inspector Avinash Tripathi, who was investigating Bilal for corruption in the games. Avinash was shot in the chest and then came in the way of an oncoming car and was thrown by the impact, leading to his death.
Sherry (Mandira Bedi) is handling PR for Bilal & is worried about the impact this accusation will have on his image. She tries to spin Avinash's death as a road accident by leaking the accident angle to editor of a leading daily (Mohan Kapur). Sherry claims that police postmortem will reveal accident as the cause of Avinash's death.Bhanwar Singh Kilol (Vijay Raaz) is the Opposition leader & it was his henchman who had shot Avinash so as to implicate Bilal in the murder. He is angry that the media is agreeing to the road accident version of Avinash's death.To top it off, the editor of the newspaper confirms to Kilol that the police postmortem report is set to declare Avinash's death from a road accident.
Prantabh Pratab/P.P. (Pulkit Samrat) and Anand Ishwaram Devdutt Subramanium/AIDS (Bilal Amrohi) are roommates and investigative journalists. AIDS is the ladies' man and has numerous one-night stands.Monsoon (Sarah-Jane Dias) is their boss & is angry with their latest story on Adrak Ganesh (a ginger stem that looks like the image of a Hindu deity). She tasks them with unearthing a juicy scandal that can help her TRPs. PP has a crush on Monsoon but does not have the courage to admit the truth to her face.
Pratap's mother (Himani Shivpuri) lives in the village who wants to conduct a grand prayer for her cow who has just got pregnant. Pratap promises to send across a CD with the correct religious hymns, which are appropriate for such an occasion.Chaddha (Manoj Pahwa) is a contractor and knows PP and AIDS. He claims that he is about to receive a large contract for the upcoming Asian Olympics. Chaddha claims that he has bribed a government bureaucrat to secure the contract to supply flower vases all over Delhi.
Kilol wants to take over the games chairmanship from Bilal & is worried about the impending postmortem report that will declare the death an accident. Kilol asks his henchmen to steal the body from the morgue so that he can prove that it had bullet holes in it. However, the police start chasing Kilol's henchmen & they hide the body in the trunk of PP and AIDS car.
When Bilal finds that Kilol has kidnapped Avinash's body, he decides to hold a cremation for Avinash with national honors, but with someone else's body. Nata (Murali Sharma) is the contractor working with Bilal, who is funding Bilal in exchange for contracts related to the Asian Olympics.When the channels announce the cremation of Avinash, PP & AIDS call Monsoon & tell her that they have Avinash's body. She tells them to bring it to office, where they leave the body in the car, in the underground parking while they get Monsoon. When they come back, the body's gone. Monsoon fires PP and AIDS. But it is revealed that Monsoon joined forces with Bilal & sold the body to him. PP & AIDS have no clue about Monsoon's double game.
Then a footbridge, commissioned by Bilal and constructed by Nata, falls apart. PP & AIDS film it live as they were on the bridge at the time when it collapsed. On the news, some people suggest the reason for the collapse could be a sonic boom, no blessings, or the screwdriver not being inserted.But when they approach Monsoon to air the footage, she humiliates them & refuses to see their footage. Monsoon then goes on air to blame the footbridge collapse on one construction worker & absolves Bilal of any wrongdoing. Examining the footage, PP & AIDS find out that the body had been put inside the footbridge & they go & retrieve it from the accident site.
PP & AIDS try to hide in a seedy motel, where they come across Kilol having gay sex with his colleague. They film the sex scandal, but AIDS hides the CD in Avinash's coat. Then while driving away, 2 drunk police officers take Avinash's body from PP & AIDS, because they think the body is insulting them by not responding to them. The next day the 2 officers turn over the body to Bilal. Bilal finds the CD on Avinash's body & uses that to stop Kilol from making more corruption allegations against him.
Now Sherry plays a double game, steals the CD from Bilal & makes a deal with Kilol for the same. She hands the CD to an IAS officer to route it to Kilol. The IAS officer hates Bilal as Bilal doesn't allow to earn their share of the bribes. The officer also knows PP & by mistake hands over the sex CD to PP, & send the CD meant for PP (with some religious hymns) to Kilol. When Kilol realizes this, he confronts the IAS officer, who reveals that the CD is with PP. Soon, everyone knows that PP has the sex CD. Monsoon calls PP, who still trusts her, and asks him to bring the CD to the office.
PP hands over the wrong CD to Monsoon. Back in the car, he plays the correct CD which also has a recorded conversation between Sherry and Monsoon, which reveals Monsoon to be working in cahoots with Bilal in stage managing the entire corruption scandal. Kilol's men attack & blow up the car (which has the CD in the player), but PP & AIDS escape. However, they are soon surrounded by Bilal, Kilol, Sherry, Monsoon & their gangs & hunting for PP & AIDS. PP hooks his mobile to live streaming & to a mobile broadcast van, & get Bilal & Kilol to reveal their entire plan to cause corruption in the commonwealth games, on live TV. The police arrests them & PP & AIDS are vindicated.
