Roberto is in the edge to become a father for the first time. He was already dreaming of the years yet to come, wondering how his son would be. While trying to figure out how to act like a father he must also face and endure a tough reality - to be a Down syndrome child's dad. Insecure and ashamed of the situation he will have to confront and overcome it.

Roberto (Marcos Veras), a writer not yet published, is confident that the birth of his son is a brand new start for a new life. However, still in the birth room, he finds out that he will need to get used to a new idea - being a dad to Fabrício, a child with Down Syndrome. The news sets Roberto in a flood of mixed emotions and conflicts that end up affecting his relationship with his work and with his wife Claudia (Débora Falabella). On a journey of 12 years, among obstacles, conquests and discoveries, the meaning of true fatherhood is revealed.
