Muriel Bayen, a divorced beautician and mother of two, loves to tell stories. She is a huge fan of this singer Vincent Lacroix, in fact she is a dedicated fan. One day Vincent knocks on her door and asks for her help.

Vincent Lacroix (Laurent Lafitte) is a successful singer, one of those who have everything going for them, glory, love, money. For 20 years, Muriel (Sandrine Kiberlain), an eccentric esthetician and somewhat mythomaniac, has had eyes only for him. She hasn't missed any of his concerts, watches all his appearances and buys everything he produces. One evening, Vincent's life gets out of hand. During an argument, he accidentally kills his partner.
