Theater director Nika Subbotina returns to her hometown on the anniversary of her father's death and discovers that the house now belongs to a new owner - her father's former business partner took over his company and married her mother. Nika gradually faces problems in her family, including a conflict with her new stepfather and the disappearance of her younger sister. Moreover, an old family friend suspects that Eduard may be involved in the tragedy. In order to understand what is happening, Nika gets a job at a local cultural center and, with the help of former journalist Filipp Avdeev, begins her own investigation.
