A poignant comedy about three midlife women who join forces to revive their acting careers, "Not Dead Yet" brings a dramatic new perspective to a range of women's issues rarely embraced by American cinema.

"Not Dead Yet" is a poignant comedy about life, hot flashes, and profound re-awakenings. Three women join forces to revive their acting careers, only to find themselves on a quest for something far more important. Frustrated by the lack of roles for women over 40, they decide to create and star in their own film. As the project spins out of control--the result of unwittingly hiring a porno director--so do their lives.—Lyla Foggia

Synopsis

Its a story about coming of age for a second time. Three middle-aged actresses dream of starring in a film, but when nobody will hire them they make their own and enter a film contest. Ignoring the advice of their therapist turned shaman to tell their own stories, Jane, Cindy and Michelle act out their fantasy selves in front of the camera, and watch in horror as their dream becomes a joke in the hands of a former award-winning European director. Its only when Michelles hyper-critical mother has a heart attack and tries to make amends by apologizingand giving Michelle enough money to make another filmthat the three friends finally take the shamans advice and embrace who they are now.
