Sigurd joins a sealer ship heading for West Greenland. He leaves behind his pregnant girlfriend with a promise of marriage when he returns home. Unfortunately, the ship sinks, and only Sigurd and his friend Lorens escape ashore. The two must now try to survive in a deserted, harsh and icy landscape.
