A popular high schooler and his oddball friend help a shy girl get rid of her bullies by attempting to make her the most popular girl in school.

Kiritani Shuji is one of the most popular guys in school. On the outside he seems caring but deep down he is quiet and doesn't like opening up to others. When he meets eccentric classmate Akira, he generally is forced to show his true self. One day, a new girl, Kotani Nobuko, is transferred into their Shuji's class. Due to her gloomy looking attire she begins to be harrassed by the class bullies. Hearing about this, Akira formulates a plan to makeover Nobuko entirely, so she'd become one of the most popular girls in school. This prompts the nickname "Nobuka" between them. But Nobuko tells them that she has tried to do so in the past,but every time it turns outmiserable. Shuji tells Nobuko to have a more positive attitude, and he protects Nobuko from the harassment.However, he feels that the bullying won't stop that easily. Hearing about this, Akira comes up with the idea to makeover Nobuko from her looks to her personality, so that she'd become one of themost popular girls in their school.That way, there's no way the bullies can harass her.And so Shuji and Akira's greatmake-over begins...
