The rise and fall of a toxic relationship between a successful businessman and a reality star. The cruel reality of having to prove their respective accusations against each other through the Peruvian justice system.
Emma (26), becomes the new star of the reality show "El Coliseo", where she meets Cristobal, an attractive businessman who seduces her with his charm. Their romance becomes the talk of the media, but as Emma gets more exposure, Cristobal's jealousy unleashes, showing a dark side marked by violence. Determined to get away from the toxic relationship, Emma leaves the show to pursue a career in acting, sharing the screen with her former partner Dante. Cristobal's reaction is visceral, triggering a confrontation that ends in a chilling scene where Emma is forced to defend herself with a pair of scissors. Their versions differ dramatically: Cristobal accuses her of assault, while Emma claims to have acted in self-defense. In the midst of a legal process full of obstacles and prejudices, Emma fights for justice with the support of her lawyer, facing the manipulation of evidence and the media influence of Cristobal. As the prosecutor tries to discern the truth, he interviews both Cristobal and Emma, finding fragments of credibility in both stories. However, Emma reveals a disturbing truth: Cristobals family tried to buy her silence, shedding light on the corruption that permeates the case. Finally, Emma decides to make a public statement denouncing the lack of empathy in the judicial system. Her bravery moves the Prosecutor, who manages to prosecute Cristobal, although unfortunately he escapes justice by leaving the country, leaving Emma as a symbol for the fight of truth and justice in a world where aggressors often go unpunished.—Daniel Rehder
