Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) organizations in contemporary India against the backdrop of the struggle for decriminalization. In 2009, the Delhi High Court ruled on the Naz Foundation case striking down section 377 of the India Penal Code, an 1861 British colonial law which criminalizes 'carnal knowledge against the order of nature'. However, in December 2013, the Supreme Court of India set aside the 2009 ruling and re criminalized LGBT peoples in India.
