Madhavi comes new to Chennai town . She meets her old college mate Mohan in a friend's house . They rekindle their romance . Madhavi holds a dark secret . She has been kidnapped and molested when she was new to Chennai . She tries to escape but not before killing the villian in a fit and self defence . As it happens in movies , Mohan is a police inspector in charge of this murder case . He is , of course not aware of what Madhavi has done a few days back . He is in search of the killer . Madhavi works as a journolist . A few such murders take place in the town . The victim is always the brothel owner or a broker . Its Madhavi's job to cover this case of seriel murders in her news paper. Both of them manage to fit in a few duets in flowery locales . Finally Madhavi kills another such villian and kills herself saying she is innocent of these murders. I wish the ending would have been better .I wish Mohan and Madhavi had married . Why kill the heroine ? Just because she was " sullied " ? well , it suited the formula of those days . Thats what society would have preferred. Madhavi looks slim and glamorous in western dresses. She also emotes well in some scenes . Mohan is of course a treat to watch in any role . Its a revenge drama cum thriller . Though we all know who the killer is , we are glued to our seats till the end . there are some crowd pulling , wistle worthy songs of Silk Smita and Anuradha . Some scenes with would be customers , potential brokers is worthy of mention here .
