Summaries

An animated series based on the West German comic strip of the same name, which follows a private detective Nick Knatterton.

An adaptation of the comic strip "Nick Knatterton" (1950-1959) by Manfred Schmidt, itself based based on a 1935 one-shot story. Nick is a private detective from an aristocratic background, born to a family of Freiherrs (Barons). Nick typically wears a green plaid overcoat and cap. He habitually smokes a pipe. He is not exceptionally strong, but his eyesight is exceptional and he has a computer-like ability to memorize data. Nick's cases often involve wealthy aristocratic families who demand discretion. His villains tend to belong to the same social circles, and Knatterton goes out of his way to use non-lethal methods when confronting them.—Dimos I
