"A film of Newent was produced in 1966 and after seeing this Newent Local History Society were motivated to produce an updated version that residents and visitors can look back on in the future and see what this historic market town looked like. Scenes include items that date back over 1,000 years to modern housing developments. Interviews with residents, the canal, the Onion Fair, the Armistice Parade, the schools and the bellringers are all included as well as some of the hidden corners of the town".
