About life in the Russian city of Saratov in 1919 during the Russian Civil War.

Film is based on the book "No ordinary summer", and is a sequel to Pervye radosti (1977). Set in the time of the Russian Civil War of 1919 in the city of Saratov on the river Volga. The main character Kirill Isvekov is now a rising leader in the Red Army. He takes part in the victory over the Vrangel Army in the battle of Tsaritsin, and becomes the secretary of the City of Saratov. He is in love with the beautiful actress Annochka, and they are happy together. But the Civil War isn't over, and Izvekov joins the Budenny Army.—Steve Shelokhonov
