Set in San Francisco's Mission District, Navegar es Necesario is the lyrical story of a man, Jorge, portrayed from his childhood through twilight years. As he moves forward through life, his future self stands witness to past choices and chance occurrences which will eventually come to define him. But what is the past? Is our existence linear? What makes us who we are? Navegar frames these existential questions within 16 blocks of Mission Street, using a cinematic canvas of poetry, sensuality and urban rhythm as a backdrop.—Anonymous
