A Chinese merchant living in the pre-revolutionary Russia falls in love with a Russian girl Olga. He has to return to China on business. At this time the bolshevik revolution takes place. He is unable to return to his Russian wife. His mother insists on his marrying a Chinese girl. He marries the Chinese girl but he can never forget Olga. Six years after he meets a former imperial Russian officer and takes him on board his ship sailing to Nagasaki. The ship sinks near the Japanese shore in a hurricane. They are suspected of being KGB spies and they hardly escape. In Singapore an old acquaintance of the Russian officer takes them on board and lands them in Germany. Finally they both get to Russia, the Chinese merchant hoping to see his Olga at last. Meanwhile Olga is is consumptive. They try to get to China but KGB tries to arrest the Chinese as a spy, which he certainly is innocent of. He is killed and at the same moment olga dies as if some thread connecting them were cut, but his old Russian friend manages to smuggle his and Olga's little daughter to China.—hmsgroop
