5 Danish kids go to Norway to ski with their Uncle Erik, as their parents must stay home. Their seasick uncle allows them to do as they please on the ferry; this continues at the hotel.
The whole family is going to Norway on a week's ski vacation. However, Father breaks his leg and Mother feels that she can't cope alone with all seven children, not with the newborn twins needing so much attention. Therefore, she asks her brother Erik to take them, which he does. They arrive at the hotel to discover that their archnemesis neighbor Mrs. Flinth is also staying there.
