The news producer Tim O'Hara is covering the launch of a space shuttle to Mars with the reporter Brace Channing, who is the daughter of his boss Mr. Channing, and his assistant Lizzie. During the live broadcast, the dumb Brace repeats a comment he made about her, and he is immediately fired by Mr. Channing. While driving back home during the night, Tim sees the crash of a Martian spaceship and he stops his car on the shoulder to find out what has just happened. Bruce is driving behind Tim and he calls her to see the ship, but the Martian has reduced its size and hid in the trunk of his car. Soon Tim meets the Martian at home, confronts him but he is knocked out. Lizzie visits him and the Martian uses the gum nerplex to transform himself in Tim and talk to Lizzie. He ends the conversation kissing her, and she goes home. Soon Tim learns that the Martian needs an electron accelerator to fix his spacecraft, and he decides to help him to repair the shop. Tim calls him Uncle Martin, and he is kind of fascinated with ice cream and the Earth. Tim tapes Uncle Martin and his suit Zoot with a hidden camera, but he decides not to show the tapes since Martin has become his friend. Martin discovers that his spacecraft will blow up unless repaired. When Brace learns that there is a Martian on Earth, she visits Tim and steals the tapes when she finds them. News producer Tim O'Hara gets himself fired for unwillingly compromising his bosses' daughter Brace Channing during a live transmission. A little later, he witnesses the crashing of a small martian spacecraft, realizing his one-time chance of delivering a story that will rock the earth. Since Tim took the original, but scaled down spaceship with him, the martian follows him to retrieve it. Unfortunately, the electron accelerator is broken and the martian seeks Tim's help. Tim and "uncle Martin" now stay together, but Tim tapes the Alien with hidden cameras for his story of a lifetime. Ruthless Brace acquires the cassettes after Tim has become a friend with Martin and decided otherwise. Not only do they now have to hinder the publication of the material, but also will the (rental) spaceship self-destruct, if not back in space in a few hours.—Julian Reischl <[email protected]>
