The people of this neighborhood show and tell us what it means to live in Colorful Hatert, a multi cultural neighborhood in Holland.
The children, Elim Church and ID dance welcome us to Hatert, a multicultural enclave of Nijmegen. Tonnie(78) shares her richly-lived life; Job Kock, is known for the National Award for crawling 18,222 meters on his knees. Kock's daughter Jolanda and Jimmy take us to their Black en White Kapsalon; a therapeutic salon for the multicultural Hatert clientele who come in daily to share their struggles and triumphs. The film is interwoven with the creative steps of ID dance and Wim tours the neighbourhood concluding with an in-depth conversation with Ahmet; the children show us the future.—Salvador L. d'Souza
