Myo-ryun is abused by her husband in a19th century mountainous province. He and his mother die, so for her daughter's sake Myo-ryun gets friendly with Oh. A travelling man needs a place to stay in the village, and ends up saving the daughter from a policeman's nasty intentions. They escape to a mountain goldmine and discover who murdered her father. Will the daughter's conflicted feelings for the killer save him or will vengeance rule? How will her mother react to this revelation and the way the killer was treated?—Samb Hicks
