Thakur Dayal Singh is a wealthy man and lives a very comfortable life with his wife, and daughter, Anita. He would like Anita to get married to his friend's son, but Anita refuses to agree to an arranged marriage, and would like to select her groom on her own. When Thakur disagrees, Anita runs away from home, and meets with a young man named Pritam Singh. After a series of misunderstandings, both are attracted to each other and fall in love. Anxious about his daughter's whereabouts, Thakur sends his men, and even offers to pay a reward for the safe return of his daughter.
