2000. Andrey, a special forces officer of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, together with his detachment, is sent to intercept a group of militants who have entered the territory of the Russian Federation and are hiding in the mountains. The detachment is ambushed and loses most of the people. Only two return from the battle - Andrey and his friend Semyon. Andrey, having received a serious wound, is demobilized from the army and gets a job as a forester in his small homeland, where he encounters the injustice and arbitrariness of local kings. Defending the honor of the girl, he is forced to enter into a fierce battle with a whole bandit clan.
