Synopsis

Sona (Jacqueline Fernandez) tells her husband Mrityunjoy Mukherjee (Joy) (Manoj Bajpayee) that she's pregnant. Joy is away on a business trip and Sona had declared her pregnancy to him just before he boarded his flight.Inspector Imran Shahid (Mohit Raina), who is also Sona's ex-boyfriend, visits her house to collect evidence against Joy in a serial killing case. Sona thinks Shahid is just trying to frame Joy to take revenge on him for taking away his love. Shahid's behavior with Sona borders on harassment, especially when Joy is not in the house.

The serial killing case is that of six girls who went missing; their bodies were found in an isolated house owned by Joy. All the victims were unmarried and pregnant and were then aborted and dismembered. The fetuses were kept in Formaldehyde filled jars, while one body was found completely cut up from limb to limb and hung up on chains to dry. Shahid digs up the lawns of the property and find the other 5 bodies buried under potted plants in the garden.Joy, a gynecologist, is arrested and the town's people lose respect for him.

Sona, who firmly believes that Joy is innocent and framed by Shahid, visits Joy in prison, and Joy tells her to ask a famous lawyer Mr. Rastogi (Darshan Jariwala) for help. Joy says that Rastogi owes him a favor as Joy had saved Rastogi before.Rastogi is on life support at home due to a cardiac arrest episode. Rastogi agrees to help Joy and puts his team on the case.Joy's bail application is rejected by the court for all found evidence is against Joy. Fingerprints on the cigarette butts found at the crime scene are Joy's. The DNA from the hair sample also match Joy.

Rastogi tells Sona that all the evidence is against Joy, but Sona insists that Shahid is trying to frame Joy, as all this started only after Shahid was transferred to their city. But Sona has no proof against Shahid.Rastogi suggests that Sona prove Joy's innocence by killing one more girl in the same way the previous six were killed to prove that the killer is not Joy. The murder will prove that the serial killer is still on the loose since Joy is in jail and hence cannot be the murderer.

Sona is a kind person and unwilling to hurt anyone but finally agrees after she is convinced that there's no other way to prove Joy's innocence. Rastogi says that without this, Joy is headed for life imprisonment, after Rastogi convinces the court not to award the death penalty to Joy. Joy is attacked in jail and ends up in the prison jail with heavy injuries.Rastogi says that killing Shahid in a hit and run won't solve anything since in a serial murder case, all victims have a very similar profile.

It is revealed that Sona dated Shahid, but her parents were both surgeons and wanted her to marry another surgeon. Hence, they selected Joy as a suitable match for her. Sona wanted to elope with Shahid, and he hesitated. This makes Sona believe that Shahid was only using her for his pleasure. To pacify Sona, Shahid marries her in a simple temple ceremony with no witnesses.

Sona steals the patient list of the most famous gynecologist in town from her receptionist. She finds that there are 3 pregnant women who are from out of town, but she needs someone who is single.Sona chooses her neighbor Anushka Tiwari (Zayn Marie Khan), an unmarried pregnant girl. Sona starts following Anushka and sees that her boyfriend Sid rejects her when she informs him of her pregnancy. Sona saves Anushka when she tries to kill herself by stepping in front of an oncoming truck.

Sona plans to kidnap Anushka by getting her unconscious with chloroform, but unknown to Sona, her maid had spilled the chloroform on the kitchen table and filled the bottle with tap water.When Sona tries to kidnap Anushka, the chloroform doesn't work and instead Anushka runs after Sona to catch her. Sona realizes that Anushka is asthmatic and allergic pollen. She throws pollen in Anushka's face and Anushka falls unconscious.

At first Anushka is assumed to be missing. Sona is shown to view Joy's surgical tutorials and performing a surgery on Anushka. And later, a mutilated dead body is found, matching Anushka's description at the same place where the first 6 bodies were found. It was Sona who called the police with a voice scrambler and told them about the location of the body.News of Anushka's death reaches police, making the court believe Joy is not the killer. He is granted bail.

After Joy returns home, Sona shows him Anushka, who is still held captive by her in the basement of their clinic. She didn't actually kill her but found an unclaimed body and dressed it up to make it look like Anushka's body. Meanwhile, Anushka's boyfriend Sid (Deepak Arora) follows them and finds that Anushka is actually alive in the basement of Joy's clinic. Sid tries to free her but accidentally locks himself in the cupboard.

Sona wakes up in the night to find Joy missing. She drives to the clinic immediately to find Joy about to kill Anushka. Sona now realizes that he is indeed the killer of the six girls. Joy revealed his mother got pregnant with him out of wedlock and abandoned him. Ever since Joy hates girls who gets pregnant out of wedlock that's why he aborts and dismember them.

Sona tries to save Anushka, but Joy pins her hand on the table with his scalpel. Sid is also tied up by Joy, but he manages to contact Shahid, who immediately arrives, only to be tied by Joy too.Shahid reveals that he had a little sister who had met a gynecologist just before being murdered. Shahid had gone to meet the gynecologist and it is revealed to be Joy, who hit Shahid with iron rod from behind, but Shahid survives. Shahid was in coma for 2 years, and by that time Sona had married Joy. Then, Shahid followed Joy to this town to apprehend him.Joy is now going to abort and dismember Anushka right in front of them. Shahid manages to free himself and Sona, who gets Sid and Anushka to escape. During his attempt to kill Anushka, Joy accidentally stabs Sona after she throws herself in front of Sid and Anushka. Shahid stabs Joy from behind, presumably killing him.

Sona wakes up in hospital with Shahid beside her and learns she has lost her baby. He tells her that Anushka is not going to file a case against her because she saved her life. Joy is also saved by the doctor and alive, but escapes from the hospital before anyone is aware. Rastogi, who is now revealed to have known Joy's crime already, and possibly had a role in those killings, meets Joy and gives him shelter.
