Summaries

A road trip after graduating from high school is the setting of this independent film, in which four fundamentally different teenagers set off to Portugal together to find themselves, their own lives and the great freedom after school.

Despite their strained friendship, Konrad manages to convince Romy to go on a shared trip to the ocean during their summer holidays. When Romy's boyfriend Julian and the unknown hitchhiker Nele join them during their road trip, Konrad begins to fear that the trip was a bad idea. It soon becomes clear that there is more to their journey than just a fun vacation adventure. While one is battling the ghosts of the past, the other has no idea what he actually wants from life. Even Romy's perfect world is not always what it seems. Perhaps this road trip can provide more clarity? One thing is for sure: everyone has a challenge to face and this road trip definitely turns out completely differently than expected. "Tomorrow Somewhere by the Sea" won the International Film Festival Schlingel and is said to be Germany's Best Youth Film of 2023.—Patrick Büchting
