In 1930s Shanghai, monster hunter Yu Wen rescues actress Gu Qing from a monster attack, angering her suitor Tianming. The trio investigate paranormal cases, uncovering a resurfaced ancient monster and its manipulator behind the incidents.

During the Republic of China period, in Shanghai, Yu Wen, a handsome monster hunter, with the hunter clan's special capability, had a strong hunch that a monster would appear at the Shanghao Hotel.
