The story of two teenagers who discover themselves - and one another - on a week long summer trip to Slovakia.

Lina is 17 years old and lives in Toronto with her mother. For one week during the summer holidays she plans to visit her extended family in Modra, a small town in Slovakia. When Lina is dumped by her boyfriend she invites Leco instead, a cute boy from school. Not long after arriving in Modra, Lina and Leco discover they have little in common. To make matters worse, Lina's family mistakenly assumes that a romance is afoot, setting off a chain reaction which leads to an explosion of repressed desire and confusion. Featuring performances by newcomers Hallie Switzer and Alexander Gammal, MODRA is a journey into the heightened emotional chaos of two teenagers, a time when adulthood has not yet arrived, but childhood seems to have already long vanished.—Ingrid Veninger

Seventeen year old Toronto area high schooler Lina breaks up with her boyfriend Tyler just before they are scheduled to go on vacation together for a week to visit her relatives in Modra, Slovakia, they who she has not seen since she was a child. Both actions based on a whim, Lina asks another male classmate, Leco, who she doesn't really know well, if he would like to go in Tyler's place, Leco who accepts. Both Leco and Lina both want to get to know the other better. On Lina's side, she asked him solely because he called her. On Leco's side, Lina is only one of several girls on his "get to know" list, she being half way down the list at that. This list is his way of becoming more socially active following the lengthy illness and subsequent death of his mother. The fact that Lina's relatives, upon Lina and Leco's arrival, believe Leco is her boyfriend, and their forced togetherness solely in that they are traveling together without others, places much pressure on them truly to become more than just friends. If they don't, they may be torn apart by their time together, regardless of if they are incompatible or not.—Huggo
