Synopsis

This movie's true stars are Annie and her four puppies.

The film begins with Charlie Logan (Josh Hutcherson), moving with his parents into a new house in a new town. His parents are both employed by the local hospital.

One day he find four puppies in the woods. He takes them home, then hides them in the hospital with the help of a kindly old janitor, C.W. (Stacy Keach). But the puppies escape from the basement and begin visiting patients. Amazingly, the patients begin to heal.

But the hospital director finds out about the hidden dogs, and soon, C.W. and Charlies parents all lose their jobs and have to leave town. The dogs are taken to a shelter and presumed lost forever.

Then a very rich woman, Katherine Mannion (Rue McClanahan) finds the puppies have cured her terminal illness. Being a major donor to the hospital, she forces them to rehire Charlie's parents, the dogs are rescued and C.W. gets a puppy to keep him company in the basement.
