Subject D, a mysterious explorer, travels the world to find a material he believes will bring him to paradise.
The journey of Subject D continues as he becomes dead set on obtaining the mysterious material he only sees in memories. With a shield on his side and bread in his stomach, he traverses the world and experiences landscapes untouched by man, and sees that the world he finds himself in is not as bad as he says it is. It's only a shame he'll have to do it alone.
The Minecraft VR Episodes tell the story of Subject D, an unknown test subject that suddenly finds himself in a world of blocks and pixels. Using his instinct, he makes his best attempt to make the best of his situation, even if it means clicking the respawn button.
In Episode IV, Subject D has just finished construction of a brand new portal frame. His mind continues to be drawn by that purple substance he came across a while ago. It was dark, tough, and surrounded by lava, which made it only more alluring for D. The journey to obtain it is long and extensive, but it was worth it in D's mind. He sets off, traveling by boat, and comes across many interesting settings along the way. From a close encounter with a witch, to the tops of snowy mountains, he has certainly seen the sights. On a particular stop on his journey, he spots a nearby flowering tree, surrounded by a suspicious organic substance. Assuming treasure underneath, he digs under the tree only to find a beautiful and fertile lush cave, full of bright glow berries, far-reaching caves, and hot lava pools. And in a particular part of these caves, he finds the material he was searching for, obsidian. With his difficult escape and his mission complete, he returns to home base. He completes the portal and finally lights it, but it creates an unintended consequence, changing the portal frame into new alien-looking blocks. After D gathers his emotions, he enter the portal.
He then realized he has made a terrible mistake.
