Historical drama about King Christian IV and his life long fight against witchcraft. At Easter 1588, an 11-year-old boy walks alone inside Antvorskov Monastery, which is King Frederik II's favorite haunt. The boy's name is Christian and he is to become king of Denmark. The old king is seriously ill, he will possibly die. A witch sits in the cellar, it is the witches' day and the boy wants to save his father.
