Synopsis

Det. Jack Miller marries beautiful young rookie Kim Mueller while working in Germany, not realizing that his stateside divorce to Sgt. Bonnie Miller never actually went through. Returning to the United States with his new bride, Jack manages to get Kim posted at his old precinct; unfortunately, it turns out that her new ranking sergeant is Jack's not-quite-ex-wife Bonnie. Sparks fly between the two women as Jack tries to resolve the situation. Before anything is settled, Jack is killed on duty. Eventually, Sergeant Bonnie Miller and Det. Kim Mueller form an uneasy truce as they and team members Charles Mapper, Carlos Gutierrez, and Peter Hall fight crime and solve quirky cases in the inner city.
