A successful drug smuggler allows his ego to get in the way and loses control. He does not see the great danger awaiting him and his friend lying ahead. This feature follows both sides of the law in the ongoing drug smuggling trade.
Semiahmoo Film's first independent feature, MIDNIGHT MONEY, explores the origin and eventual downfall of what some would call the grunt, or most line level drug smuggler. This sole individual, takes the most extreme risks and performs the actual smuggling operations. Filmed on location near active drug smuggling areas around Blaine and Bellingham, in Washington State, this independent feature follows a young man turned drug smuggler, Steve Quick, portrayed by newcomer and Pacific Northwest local, Ethan Ehr, during one night of his life. The film was shot using the same type of digital video camera like such films as 28 days later and Full Frontal.—Christopher Onyon
