The way Biju remembers it, as children, he and his younger brother Riju sought out and explored a dilapidated abandoned house that they believed to be haunted midday by a disembodied soul, back in the 1970s, in their Bengal home village.

Concerning twelve-year-old Biju and his ten-year-old brother Riju, the story follows their adventures as they hunt for a haunted house, eager to encounter ghosts that they have been told only appear at midday. Despite the central plot revolving around a haunted house, the film is not necessarily a ghost story. Instead, it contemplates on the innocent and juvenile fantasies of these two brothers which prompt them to set off on their ghostly quest. Their search ultimately results in a malevolent incident taking place at the climax of the film. Finally, an unresolved mystery remains. Set in a Bengal village in the 1970s, the film takes time to explore visual delights that the serenity and lushness of rural Bengal has to offer, while telling a universal story of childhood. There is a child in each one of us and it is that child that this film, we hope, would appeal to. We are pulled back into our own childhood selves as we feel the chill enter our bones when the brothers enter the extremely atmospheric and sprawling old house with wide staircases and broken ceilings and cracked open walls. What happens inside the house is the crux of the story even if it is imbued with enigma. Viewers can make up their own minds - with a little help from the adult actors in the closing scene. And, if there is a haunting, it is the re-visitations of the scenes that make up the movie. How it makes us yearn to return to our faraway and tender years.
