The series centres around a rich family, the Riley family. Mr Riley, an overbearing and demanding father, owned a hospital, and had two sons who had also grown to become doctors. Michael was the nice guy son, who was in love with the beautiful and charming girl Laura. However it was the badboy son, Steve who outmaneuvered Michael and married Laura. Sandra, one of the nurses at the hospital was so determined to marry into the family, for the money. She failed with Steve, and eventually resorted to Michael. The story lingers upon the Laura and Michael's struggle to deal with their feelings, even though they realise that they are both now married to the wrong people.
