Blues Behind the Music is a controversial documentary highlighting Memphis, TN long time blues guitarist Chester Chandler life and his struggles within the blues industry as a musician. The documentary highlights several prominent black musicians on Beale street including Big Jerry, Carl Drew, Earl the Pearl, John Moore, and Sonny Mack. Memphis Gold has come a long way on a journey that has lasted half a century. Having released four full-length albums to date, he has shared the stage with such artists as Bernard Allison, David Banner, James Brown, R.L. Burnside, and many more. 2008 posed a dramatic turning point in Memphis Gold career. In a life threatening accident, he fell 35 feet to the ground from up in a tree, breaking his back in three places. Memphis Gold documentary will highlight his struggle as a musician and prodigy son living off hopes and dreams in Washington, DC.—Kecia J. Benson
