In Munich, the Armenian Areg dreams of studying cinema with his German girlfriend Lilly. Until her widowed mother fell seriously ill with diabetes. Areg and her little brother Garnik have to take care of her.
2007. Areg, a 23-year-old Armenian, lives in a small shared apartment with George in Munich. He masters the language and makes perfect love with the lovely Lilly. In short, he loves his adopted country and thinks he has drawn a line on his origins. But his mother Maria, a widow and diabetic, demands that Areg marry a young girl from Yerevan. His 9-year-old brother Garnik has been learning Armenian for two years with priest Kalust in the hope of one day knowing his native land. For his part, Areg has only one ambition: to become a film director.
