Divorced, withdrawn Inga buries herself in her work as a forensic biologist while neglecting her friends and her grumpy father who lets her know she has a half-sister. Everything changes when Inga agrees to take care of a tame falcon.

Forensic biologist Inga Ehrenberg is so busy with her work at the Forensic Medicine Institute that she initially doesn't notice how lonely she is after separating from her husband. Only when her father claims that she has a half-sister and a falconer asks her to take care of a young falcon does she end up in a whirlpool of long-hidden, painful feelings. She begins to tame the falcon, convinced that the bird will never leave her.
