A young poet's destiny is irrevocably altered when he meets his idol, the Nobel Prize author, Samuel Beckett, in a small country cafe.

A young poet, Paul Susser, meets his master, the great author Samuel Beckett, in a small cafe. The two men initiate a complex friendship that spans the last two decades of Beckett's life and forever changes Paul's future. After Beckett's death, Paul meets Lucia an actress who wants to play Krapp, Beckett's most autobiographical male character. By opening himself up to this woman he will finally come to terms with Backett's legacy. This feature length fiction allows for a surprisingly fresh and intimate journey which follows the crisscrossed destinies of two creators attempting to 'say the unsayable'. A study in humanity, poetry and the creative process.—Anonymous

1992. Famed actress Lucia Martell contacts poet Paul Susser, the sole executor of the works of Samuel Beckett since his death in 1989, as she wants the rights to Beckett's one-man play "Krapp's Last Tape" to transform it into a one-woman play for herself, having just completed a successful run in another Beckett play. Her interest in the project is because the work is arguably that of Beckett's which reveals the most about him as a person. Initially Susser rejects her request, feeling it not what Beckett would have wanted for the work itself. Out of the request, Beckett and Susser's close to twenty year friendship is presented, it which started when Susser, a poet at the beginning of his career, contacted Beckett to meet as Beckett's works not only inspired him, but he believed his own works would not have existed without Beckett. The relationship between Beckett and Susser is both as friend and mentor/student, arguably to the detriment of Susser's eventual body of work which was always affected by the renown of his friend rather than his friend's actual work. A meeting late in their relationship shows what Beckett wanted Susser to do in evaluating any request such as Martell's. Martell and Susser too begin a friendship upon their meeting, all of this which does affect what Martell decides to do about her initial request to him.—Huggo
