Synopsis

Sheila, a resident of Manhattan, finds a time machine in a tanning bed at June's nail salon. She meets Gary, a quiet man who would rather watch movies than sports, one evening at a pub. Before the night is done, they go on a date and become friends since they have similar tastes in beverages and childhood memories.

Sheila informs him during the date that she has spent the last seven nights reliving the same night using June's time machine. She informs him that she will see him again the following day, and they conclude the date amicably.

Sheila discloses that she started utilizing time travel on the day she intended to commit suicide after a month of resets. She and Gary had a pleasant date after meeting in a pub on the first reset. Sheila keeps resetting the day and reliving the date since she has not felt joy in a long time.

Sheila mentions on few occasions over the dates that a cable guy who visited her home when she was younger treated her well in a way that stayed with her, but she is unsure of why she brings it up. About five months later, as she stands at the location of her intended Manhattan Bridge leap, she confesses her love for Gary, which makes him so uncomfortable that he ends the date.

Sheila is caught up in the monotony of the same date after the 364th reset. She chooses to travel further back in time and alter Gary in order to add some spice to their date. He is now a confident and prosperous businessman and has lost interest in movies on the first anniversary of the resets.

Sheila regrettably admits that she controlled Gary's life by "deleting" a few bad individuals from his life and pretending to be "Uncle Charlie," Gary's new childhood neighbor who played catch with him and sparked his interest in sports. The two conclude the date on bad terms since Gary does not take the news well.

Gary has déjà vu and put together that they have actually experienced the date more than once, even if Sheila goes back to reverse her adjustments in his life. Gary, upset, tries to prevent Sheila from wishing to end her life, which had also made her fascinated with him, by using the information he learned on their date-specifically, where June and the time machine were located and where Sheila used to reside. It is shown that Gary is the cable worker who treated her well as a child and left her life unaltered.

June observes Sheila attempting suicide when she decides that replaying the same day no longer brings her happiness, and she tells Gary about it when he returns from the past. When he finally catches up to Sheila, he informs her that the machine forwarded him, that she did not end her life, and that they will meet again "tomorrow." Gary leaves her. This deception is successful, and Sheila follows him down the bridge. The two continue their date on a genuinely fresh day when the sun rises tomorrow.
