Mahi is nicknamed Mayavi for his ability to beat up baddies stealthily without revealing his identity. He often ends up in jail. While serving time he develops a friendship with Balan, another convict. Balan's brother is seriously ill in hospital and is in need of an expensive operation. Meanwhile Mahi is picked as the lone lucky prisoner to be pardoned and released on Independence Day.
