This coming-of-age film tells of a single mother's journey to overcome major depression as well as the economic pressures of post-2008 America.

In the middle of the night, Christine discovers her partner, Brad, passed out on their living room couch. Realizing that Brad's drug and alcohol addictions have made their home life untenable, she resolves to immediately move out with Sam, her 5-year-old son. Their only recourse is to move back in with Christine's parents, whom she has not spoken to in several years. Following her abrupt change of residence, Christine struggles to find the inner strength required to move on from her past and to establish a new life for her son and herself.
