The protagonist of the film - the artist, in search of ideas for his paintings, decides to write a research paper, on the basis of which, in the future, he will write a series of paintings. The artist, and now the researcher, recalls the old legend, according to which the city of Maryina Gorka appears, then the researcher finds a map of Maryina Gorka and its environs with a route, and after studying it goes on a research journey. Ahead, a lot of researchers are waiting interesting stories and facts from the history of the Pukhov region, besides Maryina Gorka itself, he will visit such settlements as Blon, Pukhovichi, Maryino and Novoselki.
