A man sent to prison for killing the drunk driver who accidentally killed his girlfriend is framed for the murder of another inmate. He escapes, and sets off on a mission to clear his name, leaving a bloody trail behind him.

Frank, an auto mechanic, witnesses the love of his life's demise at the hands of a drunk driver. Frank lets loose his rage, and kills the man. He then goes to prison, where he is framed for the murder of a fellow inmate. Frank Stanton (Roddy Piper), behind bars for killing the drunk driver who took his fiance's life, witnesses the murder of a fellow inmate by two guards. Realizing they've been seen, they immediately open fire forcing Stanton to escape the prison. Now a "marked man," Stanton must prove his innocence while evading a manhunt to take him down. On the run, he uncovers a conspiracy between the prison guards, the murdered inmate's wife (Alina Thompson) and security agency owner Vince Malick (Miles O'Keeffe). Stanton must battle Malick and his lethal henchmen in order to prove his innocence and save his life.

Boston auto mechanic Frank Gibson and his fiancée Janet Atkinson are planning to get married - until Janet is killed by a drunk driver, and Frank retaliates by killing the drunk driver. As a result, Frank is sentenced to spend 3 years in a minimum security prison. While in prison, Frank witnesses two corrupt guards, Pappas and Watters, murdering inmate Harvey Elkins, and when Frank escapes from prison, Pappas and Watters tell the warden, Jackson, that it was Frank who killed Harvey.
