Whilst Cape Town has recently been voted the world's top tourist destination, it has 130,000 people living in shacks and 35% of the inhabitants live under the poverty line. But is has a community of people who live in even poorer conditions. There are an estimated 7,000 street people who live on the edge, fighting for survival each day. They are one of the world's biggest populations of street people and are fighting back against what they claim is a callous disregard for their plight. Authorities are trying to move them on from parks and public amenities which fear they will lose their tourist appeal once overrun by the growing army of homeless.
