A documentary and political biography about the life and death of the Sri Lankan Tamil Leader Mr. A. Amirthalingam.

A man served his people for 40 years as a public servant, since the tender age of 19, raising his voice in defense of their freedom and rights. He was not alone in serving the cause. His whole family was dedicated to political life, working tirelessly day and night to advance the cause of democracy and freedom. Tragically, despite four decades of indefatigable dedication to the cause of his people, he would die at the very hands of those he served. An exemplary political life was suddenly and unexpectedly brought to a tragic and tumultuous end on the night of 13th of July, 1989. That man was Mr. A. Amirthalingam, a man fondly remembered. Why did he have to die? What were his political motivations? What was the political agenda that so disquieted his foes? What was the mitigating factor that led to the violence that claimed his life? This documentary film is intended to inquire into these matters and more.
