Schoolteacher Jane thinks that life in Coasterville is dull, so she tells her pupils about the days of the Daltons Boys and the James Gang. When bank robber Kingman escapes and hides out in the schoolhouse, Jane helps him escape from town. To Hank, her intended, this is the biggest story to hit the "Clarion" in a long time.
