This is a film about children that live in an orphanage in Russia. The leading characters, Sashka, Nastya and Lekha are destined to spend all of their childhood there. The orphanage is more like a juvenile prison, although the adults who work there are convinced that they are making the children happy. These children are being punished for the sins of their parents, alcoholics and drug addicts; it is the parents who behaved badly, yet the children must bear the punishment. When the children violate the rules of discipline, they are reprimanded by being sent to a psychiatric hospital. Every one of the children - the leading characters of the film - chooses his, or her, own way of fighting against the rules according to which they must live in the orphanage.—Anonymous
