Synopsis

Sreenath Prasad / Seenu (Varun Dhawan) is the most notorious boy in Ooty. Seenu fails his final exam by two marks. Eager to get a degree, he kidnaps professor Tripathi's (Raju Kher) daughter during her wedding and demands his professor to give him two more marks in exchange for his daughter. Seenu takes the daughter to his home. Seenu accidentally let's go of her while letting his parents (Manoj Pahwa & Supriya Shukla) into his house, and his plan fails.

Although Seenu's father offers him a job at his shopping mall, he drops out from his college in Ooty in order to pursue education in a Bangalore based TIFT college. On the train, he beats up a gang harming a group of teenage girls. When Seenu arrives in Bengaluru, a friend of his (Kavish Majumdar) who lives there reluctantly allows him to stay in his house.

On the first day in college, he falls in love with Sunaina (Ileana D'Cruz). Sunaina ignores Seenu and it is revealed that Sunaina is being forced to marry Angad (Arunoday Singh), a local police officer who is more of a terrorizing gangster. Angad frequents the corridors of Sunaina's college & threatens everyone to stay away from Sunaina. Angad is being forced to attend anger management classes with a therapist (Ashwin Mushran).

When Seenu continues to pursue Sunaina, she tells him that she has been forced into marrying the corrupt policeman Angad Negi. Angad reaches Sunaina's home and badgered her parents to wed them. Angad then tricked her father into shooting Angad's sidekick Peter's arm. Angad put his gun into Sunaina's father's hand and pressed the trigger. Angad threatened to jail him if Sunaina does not marry him.

Seenu is a street-smart person & meets Angad at his gym. He convinces Angad to give him 3 days of unrestricted access to Sunaina to try and woo her. Angad is confident that Sunaina will never dare to love anyone other than him and agrees. Seenu publicly tells Sunaina he loves her and tells her not to be afraid of Angad and his goons. Seenu charms Sunaina & she falls in love with him.

Angad is enraged & threatens Seenu with dire consequences for his family. Seenu is far from scared & threatens Angad back. Angad shoots in anger, but the bullet strikes his sub inspector Peter instead. Seenu records everything & leaks it to the media, which gets Angad suspended.

Seenu also has another die-hard lover, Ayesha (Nargis Fakhri), of whom he is unaware. Vikrant's daughter, Ayesha Singhal was on the Ooty-to-Bangalore train Seenu was in and was attracted by his impressive fighting skills. She told her father about the experience as well as her interest in marrying him. Ayesha instantly knew that he was the perfect man for her.

Ayesha's father Vikrant (Anupam Kher) is Asia's biggest gangster and kidnaps Sunaina to get hold of Seenu and compel him to marry his daughter. Angad then tells Seenu about why Sunaina was kidnapped and that he'll have to go to Bangkok and marry Ayesha, for which he does not have a choice.

Seenu goes to Bangkok to get Sunaina back. He meets Vikrant and agrees to marry Ayesha so that he can elope with Sunaina when he can. Seenu tricks Vikrant and his friend and associate Balli into thinking that he wants to marry Ayesha. However, he requests that he is given ten days to get to know Ayesha before the wedding day, which Vikrant initially refuses until Ayesha tells her father to "do as Seenu says".

Sunaina feels Seenu has changed his colors and is disheartened. Meanwhile, Ayesha tells Sunaina that she has two of every dress and that Sunaina can wear her clothes when she likes.

Seenu meets Sunaina and tells her that he still loves her. Seenu tells Ayesha that he is truly in love with Sunaina and Ayesha's love for him was not true. He tells her that true love is only when bells ring in your heart.Angad and Sub Inspector Peter (Rajpal Yadav) come to Ayesha's house to take Sunaina back. When Ayesha sees Angad, 3 bells ring which is actually rung by Seenu, unknowingly. Ayesha is convinced she is truly in love with Angad.

Ayesha says that both of them have to love each other and says that she would break her marriage with Seenu only if she is convinced that Angad loves her too. Seenu helps her and Angad fall in love so that they can be together while he can go with Sunaina. Sunaina wears identical clothes to Ayesha; as a result, Angad confuses Sunaina for Ayesha, making Ayesha believe that Angad loves her.

While these confusions are created, Seenu is told to join his father-in-law's criminal activity. He is told to shoot Johnny (Shakti Kapoor) and he misses and accidentally shoots Vikrant's partner Balli (Saurabh Shukla) who was actually the witness of the confusion created by Seenu. He is paralyzed by the bullet. Meanwhile, Ayesha has to tell her father about Angad who she really loves but is not able to tell it.

Seenu gives one last try to bring Angad and Ayesha together and Angad kisses Ayesha when he thinks he is kissing Sunaina. Vikrant sees this and points his gun at Angad to shoot him, but Ayesha steps in between and stops him saying that she loves Angad.

Seeing this, Angad realizes that Ayesha's love for him is true and that Ayesha is the right girl for him, not Sunaina and decides to marry Ayesha. Vikrant realizes his daughter loves Angad and reluctantly tells Seenu that Ayesha will marry Angad. Seenu pretends to have agonized but celebrates later.

Ayesha marries Angad, and Vikrant convinces Sunaina (who is also pretending to hate Seenu) to marry Seenu, by saying that he took 10 days to hatch a plan to bring Ayesha and Angad together, not to get to know Ayesha (not realizing that this is true) Seenu and Sunaina are back together again and get married.
